About GIF

THE COMPANY

GIF was established in 1989 as a management consulting company. In 1990 it widened its activities concerning financial consulting and established the GRUPPO IMPRESA Finance division. This division aim at optimising the financial structures of companies, especially through the activation of local, regional, national and European tools of financial facilitation.

Since 1999 GRUPPO IMPRESA has been supporting local authorities, public and mixed companies and SMEs in obtaining financial tools to carry on projects for infrastructural and territory development, providing complete project management for all project phases: diagnostic, setting up, submission, implementation and follow up.

GIF also promotes networking and partner search activities, selecting the most appropriate project partners by country, competences and categories. They build up networks to participate in European initiatives and facilitate relations between networks and institutions.

ACTIVITIES

The Energy division is one of the most active and successful divisions of GIF, as they consider environment, energy and territorial development key sectors of their activities. They offer their expertise to SMEs, public utilities and local authorities for complete project management universities and research centres as well as local authorities, institutions and associations.

The Energy Division focuses on environmental protection, energy saving, new and renewable energy sources and syndicated technology.

GIF enhanced a long experience concerning energy projects, especially in the field of renewable energies. They are very active in project development: financing, co-ordinating and setting up of 350 projects based on regional, national and European funds, moreover they participated in more than 50 EU projects as coordinator. They offer professional consultancy regarding EU project feasibility, RTD project co-ordination, and issemination of results and technology transfer actions.

GIF has also a specific division acting as a network for company and territory: Local Authorities and Territorial Development division. GIF enhanced a long experience providing assistance to local, regional authorities and mountain communities, by offering skills and expertise for project setting up, content’s definition and identification of available public and private resources. GIF facilitates relations between local authorities and the SME on local base, acting as a constant and updated network facilitator for companies and territory.

The EU Project division works independently and transversally in cooperation with these areas.

The EU Project division makes constant use of the most updated European and international information networks and database. The EU project division gathers and collects legislative documents dealing with finance facilitation at European and international level. They offer an active and constant monitoring and follow up of information regarding new programmes and calls, and an updated knowledge of general policies with a special focus on the activities above mentioned, supported by a significant number of participations to workshops and international conferences.

Furthermore, Gruppo Impresa Finance is also active in the fields of easy-terms and lump-sum business financing in Italy and abroad and in the internationalization of companies, in particular:

§ research into easy-terms and lump-sum business financing foreseen by Italian, European and international legislation;

§ consultancy for business opportunities (investments, merger & acquisition, tenders, bids for tenders, etc.) financing and insurance of credit;

§ international and European Union contractual and fiscal problems;

§ monographic studies on “National Situations” (social-economic conditions, prospects;

§ market analysis, legislation, tax and credit facilities for economic operators);

§ publishing and journalism specialized in economics, finance and fiscal themes both Italian and international;

§ business plan setting up and market analysis and investigation.

Our contribution to the REDUBAR Project

Regarding our main work in the REDUBAR project this will focus manly on the following points:

Project Management (WP 1)

Contributing to the effective work of the steering committee

As WP leader will be responsible for an effective cooperation of their WP in order to achieve WP outcomes and deliverables.

Project activities:

A support could be given regarding datasheet and evaluation activity concerning Italy.

GIF in WP 2 is going to be cooperating partner in task 2 “the on - site usage of biogas ( none or partly upgraded) for power generation and in micro grids (heat or gas) in the same terms”.

WP 3 leader task 4: comparison of the above mentioned regulations with the objectives and regulations of the European Union.

In WP 4 cooperating partner task 2

WP 5showing the correlations between their entry requirements, the best biogas qualities possible and the refining costs. GIF will act on national level concerning the campaign and the questionnaire activities.

Regarding WP 6 Benchmarking for biogas injection GIF will act as a cooperating partner task 3 and 4.

WP 7 ” Supply chains and market structure for biogas use “ where GIF is WP leader, in this position is responsible for achieving the WP outcomes and deliverables.

Deliverables

D.22 An overview of existing supply-chains and market structures arranged by their potential for increasing the biogas use for heating and cooling;

D.23 A list of recommendation for installing “Biogas feeding-in and feeding out pools” on the basis of the detected supply chains with the highest biogas use potential;

D.24 A list of recommendation to policy makers for the future development of selected supply chain and market structures with the highest project relevant potential.

WP 8 “Proposal for the reduction of barriers and the creation of legislative instruments and regulations to increase the biogas use for heating, cooling and power generation”.

GIF will act as a cooperating partner in task 2, 5 and will be responsible for D.28 being responsible for a list of recommendation for reduction of financial barriers. Proposals for effective public and / or combined public/private financial support for measures directed to the increase of using RES for heating and cooling.

WP 9

“Communication and dissemination” GIF will contribute to identify the Italian gas companies, and Italian gas associations, as well as decision makers acting on national, and on regional level.

Dissemination activities on national level will be also carried out.
